2025 Building Campaign

Growing to Serve

In February 2025, we announced a building project that would serve the current and future needs of Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church and our community. Working with Wesley Community Development and architect Perry Peterson, we are excited to present these plans to you.

Since opening its doors in 1993, ORPC has been a place where individuals and families in Northwest Guilford County and surrounding areas have come together to work and serve Jesus Christ. Thirty years later, we are happy to see our church continue to thrive and grow into a place where people can fellowship, learn, grow and support each other.

This Building Campaign building project is split into two phases. The first phase will focus on communal spaces, including a fellowship hall, welcome center, flex space, and new playground. The second phase will focus on the preschool—adding classroom spaces, a music room and offices.

We are excited for the possibilities that these new additions will bring to our church and our community. But we need your help! Be a part of the change and let’s work together to serve not only our congregation, but our community as well.

Our goal is a multi-phase building project to meet the growing needs of our congregation and community.

FAQs

Why do we need a building campaign?

We need additional space for children and youth ministry, fellowship and community gatherings, a growing preschool, and exciting opportunities to serve families in our community.

Phase 1 includes a fellowship hall, flex space for children’s worship, a welcome center, new carpet and additional lighting for the sanctuary, and new playground. Phase 2 includes 6 new classrooms and possibly updating current classrooms to meet future needs.

Future cost projections are based upon historical building costs and annual estimated inflation rates.

The current building fund includes $925,000 from a gift from the Paige estate and other gifts. Lead gifts for the Capital Campaign will be announced in mid-April.

During Commitment Sunday on May 4, we ask you to complete a Building Campaign Commitment Card, pledging a gift to be given over the next three years.

  • Write a check to ORPC for the full amount and send it to the church office, noting ‘Capital Campaign’ on the memo line.
  • Make periodic payments using the offering plate or by sending them to the church office.
  • Use the electronic giving options. Giving can be set up to contribute weekly, monthly, or one time.

Yes. Your commitment is not a contract.

Debt reduction is important. Before the final construction plans are approved, a plan to pay the monthly mortgage payment and ultimately the full mortgage note will be shared with the congregation.
