Adult Ministry at ORPC

Adult faith formation at ORPC takes many different forms. There are specific groups you can join (such as our women’s Book study), there are intergenerational opportunities such as in small groups, opportunities to study with our Pastor, and pop-up opportunities. We value adult faith formation because we never stop learning more about our faith – God is always revealing more of God’s self to us, and we are called to faithfully listen for God’s voice and God’s guiding hand in our lives.

ORPC will engage in a limited-time four week small group ministry over the first four Sundays of October! For four Sundays in October (10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22), small groups will gather around the church campus for an hour after worship (11:15am-12:15pm). Each small group has an awesome topical theme based around service and ways to engage in scripture, so you can find a way to connect no matter your interests! There are two groups specifically for children, and there are five more groups that are for youth and adults.

Sign up here for the small group you want to join!

Lenten Walking Group

February 15th - April 5th
Wednesdays, 6pm, Oak Ridge Park

ORPC invites everyone to get healthy in body and spirit this season of Lent. Join us on our "Walk to Jerusalem". The Walk to Jerusalem is an imaginary walk that encourages members of all ages and fitness levels to increase their physical activity, spiritual growth, and cultural awareness through a virtual tour of Jerusalem. This 8-week journey begins on Wednesday, February 15 with the "arrival" in Jerusalem just after Palm Sunday on Wednesday, April 5.

Every Thursday we will email participants asking for their mileage for the week.  The group mileage will be displayed in the education wing each week. Our goal is 6,140 miles - the distance between Oak Ridge and Jerusalem.

We hope you'll be able to use this time for contemplation and meditation.  Devotionals will be shared weekly - quiet contemplation is also encouraged.  We also have set times for group walks on Wednesdays at Oak Ridge Park beginning at 6pm. If you don't walk - don't worry! There are many other activities that can count towards your miles, including active prayer and housework!  Kids are encouraged to participate, too.
